"Today is a test. It is only a test. Do not panic!"
This is what I had to repeat to DH as he took Simon to daycare this morning. He's quite nervous about how this particular teacher/school will handle DS' tantrums, eating, sleeping, the whole nine yards. I'm not nearly as concerned but maybe that's because I've been through it all before when Simon was an infant. I was the one bringing him everyday and communicating with the providers about his care. For the next week, that's DH's job. Then I get to take over again. Whew!
I'm sure things will be bumpy at first. I mean, he's never slept on a mat (he's in a toddler bed), he's not very good at feeding himself (unless it's fruit loops, LOL), he doesn't use an open cup yet, and he is VERY cranky upon waking from nap. Such is life. They get paid to deal with it all right? He's going to have to learn how to share with a bunch of kids who've either got siblings or have been in daycare from the very beginning. The staff is going to have to be understanding (right?).
Honestly, how can you not love this face? =)
