The Verbal Explosion has begun!!

We are so excited to report that, at 21 months (today!), Simon has entered the verbal explosion that everyone was telling us about. He has begun repeating almost any phrase you ask him to (given enough time) and is so cute when he uses words spontaneously. It's like he's so proud of himself!

DH took Simon to daycare for a few hours today and left him with the teachers. They say he did very well with the kids and only whimpered once or twice when he realized that Daddy wasn't around. They did comment on how big a handful of energy he is though. =S He spent a good deal of time pushing the toddler chairs around like trucks and messing with the overhead light switch (while other kids napped on their mats). =0 Apparently, they assumed he was at least 2yo and were a tad bit annoyed with this behavior but as soon as DH corrected them on Simon's age, they said everything he's doing was right on target.

Add to all that, DS ate WATERMELON!!! Anyone who knows Simon can attest to how big a milestone this is. I've tried every manner, kind or persuasion of fruit and vegetable available to us and never once have I been able to get him to eat a non-pureed/non-mashed one. I'm not jealous, rather, I'm excited! I cannot WAIT to stop buying all those jars!!
